I’ll kick off… I’m trying to recover data from a lightly broken laptop hard drive. So I’ve been booting from a System Rescue distribution on a USB stick, using ddrescue to read as much of the disk as I can, then debugfs to copy what I can onto an external drive. By complete coincidence, I’m also thinking about backups.
