Can anybody help James, who contacted us to see if we have a suitable desktop machine for him to use in debugging his film scanner setup?
"What I really need is an HP desktop which meets these specs:
- Approximately 3.1 GHz or faster Intel i5 or i7 CPU (no AMD)
- PC with any 64 bit version of Windows 7, 8 or 10.
- You will need a full 8 gigs of RAM for optimal performance of this unit.
These are the specs from the website of the company which make a motion picture film scanner I bought last year and ran fine until August this year when I think something in the camera on the machine failed to update properly or just failed. The only way I can know for sure wether its the custom built computer my friend made for me, or the machine I bought from the States is to run it with an HP computer with those specs above. I just can’t afford and don’t want to buy a computer just to test with when I imagine there are loads destined for recycling which probably fit those specs. The guy in the states won’t help me any further until I have proved to him beyond a shadow of a doubt that it’s not the homebuilt PC which is the problem. Very frustrating!
Any help would be greatly appreciated."
